Lady Gaga gets political without mentioning Trump as the Patriots claim the Super Bowl

Lady Gaga seemed to do everything at the Super Bowl halftime performance Sunday. She played the piano, sang, danced, and at one point, jumped off the stage to catch a football. One thing she didn’t do, was take on the president’s controversial, and recently suspended travel ban on seven Muslim majority countries.

The 30-year-old artist let her stellar performance speak for itself when many expected the singer to shout out President Trump’s travel and immigration restrictions along with his other policies that could target minorities in the states. Gaga has never been afraid to get political in the past, and disappointed some folks who were looking for her to use the high-platform to send politically charged statement.

As rumor has it, the NFL reportedly told Gaga not to make an overt statements that could potentially alienate fans. Of course, representatives for the league denied this and promised to give her artistic freedom throughout her set. The show comes amidst hundreds of thousands of Americans lining in the streets to protest the new president via nationwide Women’s Marches and emergency rallies against his travel restrictions.

Completing her 12-minute set without any guest appearances, she performed Woodie Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land,” along with her most recognized tracks including “Poker Face,” The Edge of Glory,” and “Born This Way.”

Before the show, Gaga simply promised to use her performance to promote inclusion.

“I believe in a passion for inclusion. I believe in the spirit of equality and the spirit of this country as one of love, and compassion, and kindness,” she told reporters at a news conference last week.

“My performance will uphold those philosophies,” she continued, “I don’t know if it will succeed in unifying America. You’ll have to ask America when it’s over.”

The New England Patriots won the 2017 Super Bowl in a spectacular Spielbergian finale. From the first kick the Georgians dominated the game and the scoreboard, forcing the Patriots to come up with something special to avoid embarrassment.

Living legend New England star Tom Brady went to work in the second half and made up the 25 point difference to claim his 5th championship. The Patriots closed the gap to 3 after a phenomenal catch by Julian Edelman. The 2-point conversion that followed spectacularly tied the game, 57 seconds before the end, taking it into overtime.

The Falcons were completely stripped of their wings by NFL’s Real Madrid in 5th quarter. James white scored the first touchdown in overtime to bring the Patriots their victory and their 5th championship overall.

The Patriots have appeared in the Super Bowl nine times before in franchise history, the most of any team, seven of them since the arrival of head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady in 2000.The Patriots have since become one of the most successful teams in NFL history, winning 14 AFC East titles in 16 seasons since 2001, without a losing season in that period. The franchise has since set numerous notable records, including most wins in a ten-year period (126, in 2003–2012), an undefeated 16-game regular season in 2007, the longest winning streak consisting of regular season and playoff games in NFL history (a 21-game streak from October 2003 to October 2004), and the most consecutive division titles won by a team in NFL history (won eight straight division titles from 2009 to 2016). The team owns the record for most Super Bowls reached by a head coach-quarterback tandem, as well as being the first tandem to win the Super Bowl 13 years after the first.
